It’s not your fault. Diets don’t work and your body actually knows exactly what it needs, if you stop listening to all this diet “advice” and let it tell you.
Get off that diet merry-go-round!
Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based intervention for people with eating disorders or disordered eating. The Intuitive Eating intervention was developed in the 90’s by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. These dietitians developed the intervention to help people stop dieting (restrictive eating) and connect more with internal cues. In our group, we utilize Laura Thomas’s (founder of the London Center for Intuitive Eating) 2018 book, “Just Eat It: How Intuitive Eating Can Help You Get Your Shit Together Around Food.” Members will read the book, throughout the course of the group, and complete the activities in the book, both on their own and in group.
In this 13-week psychoeducational and process group, members will learn to:
- Develop a positive, compassionate relationship with your body;
- Re-learn to rely on and utilize internal cues to help you decide what, when, and how to eat;
- Break up with your diet, for good;
- Meet other people with similar struggles and experiences.
