Do you struggle with negative thoughts about your body?
Find yourself feeling avoidant of people, places, and experiences due to concerns about your body? Do you want to work to develop a healthy body image?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we are here to help!
In this 6-week body image process group for adult female and gender-expansive folks, members will have the space to:
- process thoughts and emotions related to body image
- explore societal, cultural, and personal factors that shape personal body image
- discuss topics such as food, movement, clothing, and interpersonal relationships as they relate to your body
- develop coping strategies to manage negative thoughts and feelings related to body image
- cultivate a positive self-image and enhance self-acceptance
- meet other people with similar struggles and experiences
This group is open to all body sizes and is run from a HAES-Aligned, size-inclusive framework.
Facilitators
Kimmy is an eating disorder counselor with Birch Tree Psychotherapy. She approaches treatment from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework and enjoys working with issues related to body image, self-esteem, perfectionism, identity development, fertility, and anxiety and depression. She has particular interest in body liberation and working with clients in larger bodies.
